Colouring Techniques We Love

Balayage: This sun-kissed colouring technique creates a natural, graduated effect lighter on the bottom. A salon staple.

Root stretch: This technique blends root regrowth with lighter ends, creating depth and dimension.

Glossing and glazing: treatments to shine and vibrancy, refreshing colour between major services or the removal of yellow tones to lightened hair.

Correcting At-Home Colouring Mishaps

Increasingly we welcome clients seeking our professional help after experimenting with home hair colouring. While DIY dyes offer convenience, they often result in uneven tone, patchy coverage, or worse unintended shades. We begin the process of correction with a thorough and free consultation, allowing us to assess hair condition, identify challenges such as banding, brassiness, or overlapping colour. Together we can look at strand testing to plan realistic expectations for the final result.

Sometimes the corrective process may involve many steps: sometimes the old colour will need to be neutralized first returning a fashion shade back to a natural base then more creative colour and lighten can begin afterwards. Deep conditioning treatments and bonding treatments such as Olaplex and K18 are essential to repair damage and ensure the hair remains healthy throughout the transition.

The Case of the Uneven Colour

Vikky was tired of home colour the colour was never quite right.  The desired final look to be achieved will be a natural brunette with beige, blonde tones. We began the process after strand testing the hair a natural tone with Olaplex bonding applied to even out and reduce brassy shade.

The results gave Jane satisfaction knowing she had done a good job.
